Man ID'd Following Deadly Crash On Route 202: PA State Police

One person is dead and three others are seriously injured following a head-on collision on US Route 202 in Chester County, according to state police. 

Forty-two-year-old Matthew DeAngelis died in a crash on US Route 202 in East Whiteland early Friday, troopers say.

Matthew DeAngelis, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in East Whiteland Township, police said.

It happened just after midnight on Friday, July 14, said troopers in a release. 

DeAngelis was in a 2015 GMC Sierra and headed south in the northbound lanes when he crashed directly into a 2022 Volkswagen Taos, authorities wrote. 

All three people in the Volkswagen were rushed to Paoli Hospital with "suspected life-threatening injuries," they added. 

US Route 202's northbound lanes remained closed through early Friday morning as crews worked the scene. 

PSP's Embreeville Patrol Unit is investigating, according to the release. East Whiteland Fire Company, Minquas Fire and EMS, and Uwchlan Ambulance Corps also responded to the scene.
